Common Questions

  • Does For The Next retain any portion of donor’s donations for their own use?
  • For The Next wants a donor’s entire donation to go to supporting the environment. Therefore, only the credit card transaction fee is deducted from the donation. This fee is a cost any organization has for processing a credit card transaction. When donating to multiple nonprofit organizations together the transaction fee is only deducted once.
  • How is the transaction fee divided when donating to multiple nonprofit’s together?
  • The processing fee is a flat rate of approximately 2.4 percent, which is divided proportionally among the nonprofits for a given donation. Standard rounding is used for fractions of a penny and in the case of pennies left over, they are added to or subtracted from the fee for the last nonprofit in the list. When this occurs, it is typically no more than one or two cents.
  • Why are donations sent the sixth business day of the following month?
  • Dispatching donations to the individual nonprofit organizations at once allows For The Next to be fiscally sustainable, maintaining virtually no overhead and reducing transaction fees. We are actively researching alternative methods which would allow us to route donations immediately.
  • What happens to any interest earned on the donations before they are dispatched?
  • If any interest is earned on donations it will be donated to one of the nonprofit organizations in the For The Next community.

Protecting and restoring the environment takes more than one person or organization, it takes a community. At For The Next we are focused on creating community by building a bridge between people and environmental nonprofit organizations, paving the way for individuals to support the reversal of their environmental impact and help improve the planet.

Benefits of Joining

Listing your organization with For The Next provides a powerful channel to connect with people who are passionate about your interests, but may not know about your organization. Our online centralized database makes it easy for people to find and donate to your organization.

We enable people to connect with and donate to a diverse group of environmentally-focused nonprofit organizations. For The Next facilitates this experience by batching all donations and dispatching them to member organizations once a month. Along with the funds, For The Next sends an itemized breakdown of donations for record keeping and communication purposes.

Best of all, joining is free. There is no fee or charge for being part of the For The Next community. Our service is complimentary. Why? All of us at For The Next want to improve our planet and we believe this is our way to make a difference and pave the way for others to get involved.
